This engine was not tuned by ear. We measured 24 Creative Commons psytrance recordings — kick decay, fundamental frequency, spectral balance by band, centroid and crest factor — and adjusted the synthesis until our measurements matched theirs. The audio was measured and deleted; the numbers stayed, and they are published.
