Goa / India

The place where an international community of beaches, travel and recorded music created the practice later called Goa trance.

Cultural birthplace

Goa is an origin, but not a history isolated from local people or an empty backdrop. Tourism, regulation, economics and migration continuously reshaped the party.

The network grew because travellers returned to London, Tel Aviv, Tokyo, Frankfurt, Melbourne and other cities carrying music, contacts and organising methods.

This record is a doorway. The archive would rather declare a gap and invite contribution than fill space with generalisations.
