Japan’s scene shows that psytrance did not travel in one direction. Local artists, promoters and audiences reinterpreted an international repertoire under their own conditions.
Regular connections to Goa and European circuits made Japan a structural part of the transnational network documented by researchers.
This record is a doorway. The archive would rather declare a gap and invite contribution than fill space with generalisations.
